Parineeti Chopra is Still Reeling from All the Money She Has Got for Hiding Nick Jonas’ Shoes

Parineeti Chopra had earlier revealed that she would not settle for anything less than $5 million (approximately Rs 37 crore) for giving back Nick Jonas’ shoes in the joota-chupana ceremony, a wedding custom in which bride’s sisters and friends hide groom’s shoes and return them only after levying a hefty fee in cash or kind.

Now turns out, the money Nick has doled out to his dearest ‘saali’ for retuning his wedding shoes has left Parineeti stumped. Though she has not disclosed the amount yet, Parineeti took to Twitter on Tuesday to rubbish all speculations. “To all those speculating the joota hiding money - you know nothing!! All I can say is - you’re wrong!!!!! Haha. Nick was MORE THAN CRAZY HUGELY MADLY GENEROUS! No words. Still reeling. Phew. He shocked us. Whatta playa!!! @nickjonas,” she tweeted.

Talking about the joota-chupana ceremony, she earlier told Bollywood Hungama, “I was sitting with Nick only two nights ago and I was telling him that we needed to lock in our final amount. I quoted $5 million (Approximately Rs 37 crore). He said ‘OK, I’ll give you $10.” 

“So you can see the price negotiation is going to be difficult. But main bahut bahut paise lene waali hoon because I have to be his favourite saali,” she added.

After a whirlwind courtship, actor Priyanka Chopra and singer Nick Jonas got married over the weekend at Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhawan palace in Hindu and Christian wedding ceremonies.
