Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated nationwide, with many in the entertainment industry participating in the festival by bringing home idols of Lord Ganesha. However, some celebrities, like Rajkummar Rao, go a step further by creating eco-friendly idols themselves. Consistently demonstrating his commitment to the environment, Rajkummar Rao once again made a simple yet beautiful Ganesh idol at home this year. He took to social media to share pictures of his family’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

The idol crafted by Rajkummar Rao was adorned with flowers and a red veil. Accompanying the image, Rajkummar shared a heartfelt message: “Meet our super eco-friendly Ganpati ji. Made by us at home. Ganpati Bappa Morya.” Fans flocked to the comments section to extend their wishes, with one commenting, “May Lord Ganesha’s wisdom and grace be with you throughout the year. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi!”

Last year, Rajkummar Rao also showcased his eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, sharing photos of the eco-friendly idol he created. Alongside, he posted pictures of himself and his wife, actress Patralekhaa. Rajkummar makes it a point to vary the design of his Ganpati idol each year, reflecting his commitment to both environmental sustainability and creative expression.

Meanwhile, last year, in an interview with Shehnaaz Gill, the actor shared how he makes the idols at home. He stated on the chat show, “Mai har saal Ganpati khud apne haaton se banata hu, aate ke, bhaut maja aata hai. Fir rajma se aise aankhe, daal vagera se aise jewellery vagera banata hu. Fir haldi se unko colour karta hu, wo Bhaut sundar lagte hai. (I make the Ganpati idol with my own hands every year with wheat flour. It’s a lot of fun. I create the eyes using rajma beans, and I make jewellery using lentils and other pulses. Then I colour them using turmeric, and they look very beautiful.)”

Additionally, Rajkummar Rao explained the reason behind using organic materials for his Ganesh idol. He mentioned that when the idol is immersed in water during the ritual, it becomes nourishment for the fish. This practice ensures that nothing goes to waste and minimises harm to the environment.

On the work front, Rajkummar Rao was last seen in Stree 2. Rajkummar has Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, co-starring Triptii Dimri, in the pipeline next.
