It has been over five years since Sophie Turner bid adieu to her beloved Game of Thrones character as Sansa Stark. The series concluded with Sansa becoming the Queen of the North, much to fans’ delight. She started playing the role from a very young age and literally grew up on the show to turn out to be a wise and calculative ruler. Years after GOT’s conclusion, Sophie Turner has now spilled beans on whether she would return to reprise her role.
In a recent interview with Variety, Turner spoke about the possibility of returning as Sansa Stark, dropping hints in a positive light. Mentioning that she loved playing the character, Turner stated that she would only make a return if offered the role with the same cast and crew.
“Maybe. I mean, it would have to be the exact same cast and the exact same crew; otherwise, I wouldn’t go back, and that would just be Season 9, and I don’t think we’re going to do a Season 9, but, I mean, I loved playing Sansa, and I do wonder often what she would be doing now. Where would she be five years later? What would she be doing? Would she still be queen in the North? Would she be a good ruler? Would there be some other kind of terrible war that’s happened? I’d love to see it,” she told Variety. Speaking of which, while Turner’s condition is not something impossible, it might be challenging to assemble the cast after so many years.
Following the finale, the actors went on to take a variety of other roles. This includes Turner herself, who worked on several projects like X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Do Revenge, The Staircase and Joan. It is worth mentioning that Sophie Turner spent a greater part of her life portraying Sansa Stark, leaving her character in a good spot at the end of the show.
