Marvel Studios has been generating significant buzz with its upcoming superhero film, Fantastic Four, ever since its official announcement. Starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the new superheroes, fans eagerly await every update. Recently, Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios and producer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), provided an important update about the film on the Official Marvel Podcast. When questioned about the film’s details, Kevin Feige shared insights that have heightened anticipation among fans.

The producer was asked if, The Fantastic Four which stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm is set in the 1960s.

To this, he reportedly agreed. “Yes, yes, very much so,” Feige said. He also shared that the film will not be set in the main MCU timeline. “It is a period, and there was another piece of art we released with Johnny Storm flying in the air, making a four symbol,” he added, as reported by IGN.

Hinting at an easter egg in the poster, Feige also explained that there was a cityscape in the corner of the image and there were a lot of smart people who noticed that the cityscape did not look exactly like the New York that they know. “The New York that existed in the 60s is our world. And those are smart observations, I’ll say,” he said during the podcast.

Feige went on to say that The Fantastic Four is the project he’s most looking forward to too. He also confirmed that filming for it has to start July 29, 2024 onwards. “I am incredibly excited for what we’re doing with The Fantastic Four right now, and what Matt Shakman, our director who did WandaVision for us, is working on. He’s already moved to London, and we start filming at the end of July,” he said.

Talking about his excitement regarding the film, he said that he thinks those characters are the legendary pillars of the Marvel universe that have never been explored in any important way, apart from the films Multiverse of Madness and a few other fun teases. “In the way that we’re doing it in that film,” he said.

The Fantastic Four is tentatively expected to release after a year from now, on July 25, 2025.
