Too many cobra sightings in the recent days has led to panic in the coaching city of Kota in Rajasthan. In the latest incident, a cobra caused the suspension of drinking water supply in several areas of the city.

The cobra entered the Akelgarh Water Filtration Plant and settled on a panel box. Employees were left shocked upon seeing the cobra perched on the panel. The snake remained there with its hood raised for nearly two hours. Eventually, a snake catcher managed to rescue it and later released it into the wild, after which the water supply was resumed.

According to reports, the large black cobra entered the water plant in Kota, causing enough panic to halt the water supply to thousands of households for two to three hours. This incident occurred on Friday, sending the city into a state of concern.

The cobra had positioned itself on the panel box of an 11KV line at the Akelagarh water filter plant. The plant was set to operate from that spot, but when employees arrived to start it, they were paralysed with fear upon discovering the snake.

After discovering the giant cobra, employees quickly vacated the plant. After nearly two hours, snake catcher Govind Sharma successfully rescued the 5-foot-long cobra. An employee noted that the plant resuemd water supply after around two hours.

Govind Sharma stated that the cobra was safely rescued and released into the forest.

As Kota is surrounded by forests, various wild animals, including snakes and lizards, frequently make their way into homes. Crocodiles from the Chambal River also occasionally venture into populated areas.
