Malaika Arora Says She Is 'A Bit Strict' With Son Arhaan Khan: 'It Is Important To Me That He...'

Apart from being a model, dancer and fitness influencer, Malaika Arora is also a doting mother to Arhaan Khan, whom she co-parents with her ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan. The Bollywood diva has a very healthy bond with her son and they are often seen spending quality time together on vacations or lunch dates. Malaika recently opened up about her bond with Arhaan and said they are close friends.

Malaika Arora told GlobalSpa Magazine, “As a mom, I am a bit strict, but also my son’s close friend. It is important to me that he feels comfortable coming to me with anything, never thinking, ‘I cannot tell my mom this.’ Instead, I want him to feel, ‘I need to tell my mom.'”

Malaika Arora and Arhaan Khan’s bond was also evident in Malaika’s show, Moving in with Malaika. The duo often indulge in playful banter with one another and take trips with their family to replenish their bond. Arhaan is not only close to Malaika but also to her sister, Amrita Arora. He also maintains a healthy dynamic with his dad Arbaaz Khan and his side of the family.

Malaika and Arbaaz Khan got married in 1998 and welcomed their son Arhaan in 2002. The two parted ways in 2017 and have been co-parenting Arhaan since then. Earlier while talking to Hello Magazine, Malaika shared that it was initially “tricky” but now she and Arbaaz have struck a balance in co-parenting their son. She said, “For what it’s worth, touch wood, we’ve finally struck a good balance. Initially, it was a little tricky. And rightly so, because that’s how life is. We both realized that whatever happens between two adults, it should never be reflected on a child—and we have found a really friendly style of co-parenting.”

Arbaaz is now married to Sshura Khan, whereas Malaika has reportedly ended her relationship with Arjun Kapoor after a few years of dating. Meanwhile, talking about Arhaan, he recently made his debut as a podcaster and launched his venture Dumb Biryani, in collaboration with his friends. However, the podcast has now been shut.
