Lal Salaam: Rajinikanth Calls Daughter Aishwarya 'Mother', Wishes 'Huge Success' For Film

Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya’s much-anticipated directorial Lal Salaam has hit the theatres today, February 9. Ever since the film was announced, the sports thriller made the headlines especially because it featured Rajinikanth in an extended cameo role. Fans were gripped with enthusiasm when the superstar’s first look as Moideen Bhai was released. Now, early reviews indicate that Lal Salaam has generated a favourable response from movie enthusiasts with much showering love on the film. Amidst this, Rajinikanth extended his best wishes to Aishwarya, fondly addressing her as “mother”. In a heartwarming online post, the Jailer actor prayed that her daughter’s film would turn out to be a “huge success”.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Rajinikanth dropped a picture with Aishwarya at a university premises. The superstar was captured sitting in a wheelchair, crossing his legs in a quintessential Rajinikanth style. He was dressed in a green shirt and white trousers while sporting a pair of sunglasses and a cap. The actor also wore headphones. Flashing a smile, he cupped her daughter’s face affectionately who was standing behind him. Donning a grey dress with sunglasses, Aishwarya was seen in all smiles. “My anbu salaam to my beloved mother Aishwarya. I pray to the almighty that your movie Lal Salaam will be a huge success,” wrote Rajinikanth.

Soon after the photograph surfaced on the internet, Rajinikanth fans were quick to react to the post. Expressing their confidence in Aishwarya’s directorial prowess, one individual commented, “You have a good heart and Aishwarya works hard. She is going to reach greater heights than Thalaivaa.” “Calling his daughter as his mom. shows his love for her. Surely the movie will be a blockbuster Thalaivaa,” quipped another. A third user lauded the beautiful “Father-daughter moment.”

Aishwarya’s former husband and actor Dhanush also gave a shoutout to Lal Salaam on X. “Lal Salaam from today,” he cheered. Earlier, on February 5, he extended his “best wishes to the team” and shared the film’s trailer on the microblogging platform.

Apart from Rajinikanth, Lal Salaam also stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead alongside Dhanya Balakrishnan, Vivek Prasanna, and KS Ravi Kumar. The film’s musical compositions are crooned by AR Rahman. Reportedly, Lal Salaam interconnects communal tension with the game of cricket, trying to spread the message of harmony.
