Korean Drama Marry My Husband To Get A Japanese Remake, Agency Confirms
Marry My Husband revolves around Kang Ji Won (Park Min Young), a terminally ill woman seeking revenge after discovering her husband's affair with her best friend Jung Soo Min (Song Ha Yoon).

The Korean drama Marry My Husband is currently in discussions for a Japanese remake, as reported by JTBC. The drama Marry My Husband is a blend of fantasy, romance, and revenge, with a time travel element adding depth to the storyline. Studio Dragon, the production company behind the original series, confirmed these plans, noting the popularity of the webtoon in Japan even before its Korean broadcast. Their statement reads, “The original webtoon is popular in Japan, so we have been discussing turning the original into a Japanese drama even before the Korean version was broadcast, and we are currently discussing the direction of the plan with the Japanese side.”

It premiered on tvN on January 1, 2024. Adapted from a web novel by Sung So Jak, the story revolves around Kang Ji Won (Park Min Young), a terminally ill woman seeking revenge after discovering her husband’s affair with her best friend Jung Soo Min (Song Ha Yoon). Kang Ji Won is murdered by her husband, Park Min Hwan (Lee Yi Kyung), triggering a time travel twist where she goes back 10 years in the past to seek vengeance alongside Yoo Ji Hyeok (Na In Woo), the head of a department at her company, as reported by Koreaboo.

The main cast of Marry My Husband includes Park Min Young as Kang Ji Won, a woman well-acquainted with patience, who faces challenges from her overbearing mother-in-law and selfish husband. Na In Woo takes on the role of Yoo Ji Hyeok, a handsome and intelligent department head at U&K Food.

Initially seen as a strict boss, Yoo Ji Hyeok becomes an unexpected ally to Kang Ji Won, forming a bond with her. Their relationship, which was strictly professional in Kang Ji Won’s previous life cycle, takes a new turn as Yoo Ji Hyeok struggles with his own one-sided love for Kang Ji Won, despite his status and power.

The drama, so far, has received positive reviews for its engaging plot and strong performances, particularly from the lead actors. It has gained a dedicated fan base both in Korea and internationally, with viewers eagerly anticipating each new episode.

The success of Marry My Husband in the Korean language has also sparked increased interest in its potential Japanese remake, with fans excited to see how the story will be adapted for a new audience.
