Actor Kiccha Sudeep unveiled the trailer of Vinay Rajkumar starrer Pepe, on Sunday, August 18. At the occasion, the actor grabbed attention for his opinions on Sandalwood and its legacy, how it changed and what to expect in the future.
Sudeep did not fail to shell praises towards Vinay Rajkumar, for his new look in the film, which is being dubbed as an action drama. The Vikrant Rona actor then shared his mind on the new phase of the Kannada cinema, and how he feels it is akin to a “big Banyan tree” now.
He stated, “The Kannada film industry which started as a small seed 90 years ago, has grown to become a big Banyan tree. It has withstood several seasons. Just like how a Banyan tree changes with change in seasons.” According to him, the successes and failures in Sandalwood are just like winter, summer and rain. If an analysis was done to see whether the industry has given more successes or failures, the margin of failure would be high, added Sudeep.
He continued, talking about himself and how many failures he has been a part of and stated that it does not “define” a person. He believes the best way to move ahead is through making good films and having trust in the audience. “Just keep doing good work and the audience will support you,” Sudeep concluded.
Sudeep was highly impressed with Vinay’s appearance in the Pepe trailer. According to him, Vinay is now leaving behind his “chocolate boy” persona and is ready to do mature roles, starting a new journey.
Kiccha Sudeep is currently busy with shoots for several film projects. It includes Max, which is being made in the direction of Vijay Karthikeyaa. It stars Sudeep, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Samyukta Hornad, Sukrutha Wagle and Anirudh Bhat. Kalaippuli S Thanu is producing the film under the V Creations and Kichcha Creations banners. Some of his upcoming works also include Kabzaa 2 and Billa Ranga Baashaa.
