Actor Jack Reynor is gearing up to join the cast of Amazon Prime Video’s spy drama Citadel for its second season. Reynor joins a stellar lineup, including Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Stanley Tucci. Details on the characters and plot of the upcoming season remain under wraps, but production is slated to kick off later this year. Joe Russo is set to direct the season, with David Weil serving as showrunner and executive producer, as per reports from Variety. Additionally, Anthony and Joe Russo, along with Angela Russo-Otstot and Scott Nemes, will serve as executive producers under their AGBO banner. The series is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
For Jack Reynor, it is the third time he will be working on a Prime Video series. Before this, he starred in the adaptation of William Gibson’s novel titled The Peripheral and in an episode of Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams. What makes his role in the upcoming season of Citadel extra special is that it also reunites him with the Russo brothers. He has starred in their film Cherry alongside Tom Holland in the past.
In addition to his roles on Prime Video, Reynor has several other projects including television and film roles. He reportedly starred in the Netflix limited series The Perfect Couple. He has also appeared in the CBS All Access (now Paramount+) series titled Strange Angel.
As for films, he has been a part of the popular Ari Aster film Midsommar as well as The Good Mother, On the Basis of Sex, Detroit, Sing Street and Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Reynor has also been involved in behind-the-camera work. He wrote and directed the short film Bainne starring Will Poulter. The film went on to win the Best First Short Drama award at the Galway Film Festival, informs Variety.
Reynor is currently represented by WME, Range Media Partners and Sloane Offer.
Talking about his upcoming series Citadel, it first premiered in April 2023. The series has also served as a launchpad for multiple other interconnected shows in different countries. According to Variety, an Italian series, Citadel: Diana, is set to release in 2024, while an Indian series, Citadel: Honey Bunny, is currently in the development stage.
