Actor Taha Shah Badussha was recently in the UK to attend the London Indian Film Festival. His excitement soared when he had the chance to meet Hollywood legend Tom Cruise. Taha shared photos of the memorable encounter on his Instagram, captioning them, “Pinch me! Just met my lifelong idol. The one and only Tom Cruise!”
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Taha Shah Badussha recounted his surreal experience meeting Cruise at the festival. He described how he patiently waited until the film ended to approach Cruise who was seated at the other end of the row. Overwhelmed by the experience, he expressed, “It was so incredible how everything just worked out. I was completely in awe. And I wasn’t believing that I was so blessed to be meeting ‘the’ Tom cruise.”
During their conversation, the actor shared that they discussed movies and Tom Cruise’s current projects for which he was present in London. He further highlighted that he conveyed his admiration to Cruise, acknowledging him as an inspiration.
Speaking more about Cruise, Badussha praised his illustrious career in the entertainment industry. “His career is nothing short of remarkable. He has always led the way and has been a torchbearer in the world of cinema,” Badussha told the news portal.
Reflecting on Cruise’s films like The Rainman, Magnolia, Jerry McGuire, Top Gun and Mission Impossible, he acknowledged how they have profoundly influenced his “perspective on filmmaking and the craft of acting.”
“I have definitely taken inspiration from him on how to build my filmography. I would love to be as versatile and experimental yet commercial as him,” he added.
Badussha also expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming appreciation he received for his portrayal as Tajdar in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. “London has truly showered its love on me. The change is very apparent. People all over the city recognised me. It’s such a blessing,” he shared.
Highlighting his experience at the festival, Badussha shared that he got the opportunity to meet and learn from various talented artists.
“The festival was remarkable. I got to meet so many incredible artists and learn from their way of thinking and how different it can be. Receiving an award was truly a great honor, so was visiting the House of Lords and the Parliament and standing on the same spot as some of the greatest leaders in the world,” he added.
Taha Shah Badussha made his Bollywood debut in 2011 with the film Luv Ka The End opposite Shraddha Kapoor. He has also appeared in films like Baar Baar Dekho and Gippi.
