Fans will be thrilled to see Bridget Jones rekindling her romance with Daniel Cleaver, played by Hugh Grant.

Renee Zellweger is back as Bridget Jones in the highly awaited film, Mad About the Boy. Fans will be thrilled to see Bridget rekindling her romance with Daniel Cleaver, played by Hugh Grant. Recent photos from the London set show Zellweger and Grant looking more friendly than ever. In the paparazzi snapshots circulating on the internet, Grant, dressed in a blue suit, is seen giving Zellweger a sweet kiss on the cheek.

The actress looked charming in a green dress, paired with a grey cardigan. Directed by Michael Morris, the franchise is inspired by Helen Fielding’s 2013 novel and the upcoming movie is expected to continue the story from where the third part concluded in 2016.

At the beginning of the previous film, Cleaver was believed to have died due to a plane crash. However, the film ended with a twist, as it was revealed that he was alive, which confirms Grant’s return in the fourth instalment. Speaking about Grant reprising his character, a source close to the production told The Daily Mail, “There was no way they couldn’t get Hugh for Bridget’s final outing. Daniel has been such a huge part of her life and although he literally has no chance with her now it is only right he should be included.”

In a previous interview with ET Online, speaking about Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, Hugh Grant said, “I’ll tell you what, I think this script for the fourth Bridget is the best one of the four. And, in fact, one of the best scripts I have read for in a long time. It’s based on trying to bring up two children alone, and then all mixed up in the Bridget Jones comedy, so it’s very sad, as well as very funny. It has me in tears.”

“It just suddenly sprang out of, you know, Helen writing another book. Hopefully, we’re not too ancient. I don’t do much now, I’ve just got a few scenes,” the actor added.

Alongside Renee Zellweger and Hugh Grant, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy also features a new talented cast including Emma Thompson, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall in key roles. The fourth movie is scheduled to debut on Valentine’s Day 2025.
