The former India batter, Wasim Jaffer’s social media banter with the former England skipper, Michael Vaughan has taken a new turn with the former coming up with yet another witty reply.
Jaffer responded to Vaughan’s post on X (formerly known as Twitter) where the former England skipper called for Test cricket to have two divisions and a more even distribution of wealth among the Test-playing nations.
Test cricket needs to be 2 Divisions of 6 ASAP .. and spread the wealth of the game more evenly across all countries ..— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) September 1, 2024
Showing off his hilarious social media game, Jaffer as always came back with a hilarious response showing the World Test Championship 2024-25 table with England at the very bottom.
Jaffer wrote, “Timing is everything. And Michael is a wise man who understands that. That’s why he didn’t tweet this a month ago when the WTC table looked like this”.

England’s points tally in the WTC standings took a massive hit after their Test tour to India which took place from January to March earlier this year. Ben Stokes’ side suffered a 1-4 series defeat at the hands of Rohit Sharma’s side.
Following the series defeat, England’s following Test assignments came at home where they managed a clean sweep in the two-match affair against the West Indies, followed by the two matches won against Sri Lanka.

The England team will gear up for the final game against Sri Lanka which is set to take place in The Oval, London beginning on September 6. The hosts will be favourites to take the win despite not having their star players in the skipper Ben Stokes, Zak Crawley and Mark Wood, all of whom missed out due to their respective injuries.
India on the other hand will be taking on Bangladesh in a two-match Test series with the games taking place in Chennai and Kanpur respectively. The series is set to begin on September 19.

It will be the first Test assignment for Gautam Gambhir as the newly appointed Head Coach of the Indian team. He will look to bounce back after the shocking series defeat to Sri Lanka during their white-ball tour. The series will also prove to be testing grounds for several players as the year leads up to the headline Test event, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia beginning in November 2024.
