In an exciting development, the makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, Kurinji, have officially released its trailer. Directed by Gireesh Kunnummal, the film will feature Avani Avoos, Rajana Ravi, Prakash Vadikkal, Dr Shibujayaraj, Prakash Chengal, Anishitha Vasu Lekhanair and Rakhi Anuprasad among others in the pivotal roles. The film will be reaching the theatres on February 2, 2024.
The trailer shows the hardships of the tribal community, living against the backdrop of a Paniya colony. These tribal people make root sculptures and indulge in agriculture farming for their survival. As the trailer proceeds, a blend of emotions and challenges faced by the community is depicted skilfully.

Meanwhile, the intriguing glimpse of the film Kurinji prompted reactions from fans who approved the trailer and also appreciated the same. One of the fans wrote, “Avooche for your amazing performance on the big screen he very best little one.” Another commented on the trailer, “A heartwarming cinema with a real-life story. That’s what I found from this trailer. Congratulations to all the team members who made it possible especially to Gireesh.”
Interestingly, Anishita Vasu, who is playing a significant role in the film, has also given her vocals for its songs. Meanwhile, the film has been produced by SR Nair Ambalapuzha under the banner of Sri Mookambika Communications. The cinematography of the film has been done by Jithesh Adithya.
Gireesh Kunnummal is popular for his film Dhanayathra. Actress Shweta Menon-Riyaz Khan starrer film released through an OTT platform called LimeLight Media in the year 2021. Produced by Benny Thodupuzha under the banner of Sree Mookambika Communications, the film beautifully portrayed the life of a woman victimized by atrocities and how she managed to survive by playing different roles. Riyas Khan played Devarajan in the film whereas Sandeep Iyer’s character is named Shamla Kurian.
Apart from them, Anand, Sunil Sukhada, Indrans, Edavela Babu, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Bijukuttan, Mamukoya, Kalabhavan Prajod, and others also played important roles in the film. The music of the film was composed by Kanhangad Ramachandran and Rajamani.
