The lyrical video shows black-and-white clips of the Jallikattu race, a bull-taming race, also known as sallikkattu, a traditional sport of Tamil Nadu.

Meiyazhagan, headlined by the actors Arvind Swamy and Karthi, is all set to release in the cinemas on September 27. C Prem Kumar has written and directed this film. Now, the makers have increased the fervour around this film by unveiling the lyrical video of one of the tracks, Veri, on Think Music India’s channel. VM Mahalingam and Aruna rendered vocals to the tracks penned by Karthik Netha. Govind Vasantha has composed Meiyazhagan’s music. The lyrical video shows black-and-white clips of the Jallikattu race, a bull-taming race, also known as sallikkattu, a traditional sport of Tamil Nadu. It is celebrated on the third day of Pongal – Mattu Pongal Day. The lyrical video also shows the coverage videos of the Tamil Nadu people on the issue of the Jallikattu race. It ends with a shot of Karthi entering the Jallikattu race ground. The lyrical video has garnered more than 4,00,000 views and counting.

Social media users loved the clip and many of them opined that Meiyazhagan would be an amazing comeback for Karthi. Others appreciated Veri’s lyrics, music and vocals.

Apart from Arvind Swamy and Karthi, Meiyazhagan also stars V Jayaprakash, Swathi Konde, Devadarshini Chetan and others in important roles. Karthi’s brother, actor Suriya, and his sister-in-law, actor Jyotika, have backed the film under their home banner, 2D Entertainment. According to the OTTPlay report, Meiyazhagan is billed to be a family entertainer and its plot is yet to be revealed in the public domain. The report mentions that this film was shot in locations in Tamil Nadu, including Karaikudi, Kumbakonam, and other places. As per the report, it is also to be noted that the film was shot in sync with sound technique. Sync sound (synchronized sound recording) refers to sound recorded at the time of the shooting of films. It has been widely used in movies since the birth of sound films.

The technical crew of Meiyazhagan consists of cinematographer Mahendiran Jayaraju and the editor Govindaraj.

Makers have also unveiled Meiyazhagan’s teaser on Think Music India’s YouTube channel. The teaser shows the conversations between the cousins Arvind Swamy and Karthi.
