Akshay Kumar REVEALS His Action Scenes Are Lifted From Tom and Jerry: 'It’s Violence, Not Comedy'

With his comedy comeback in Khel Khel Mein, hitting theaters on August 15, Akshay is ready to make a splash. In a surprising twist, he’s revealed that he draws action inspiration from the classic cartoon Tom and Jerry.

In a recent Pinkvilla interview, Akshay Kumar left everyone surprised when he corrected his Khel Khel Mein co-star Fardeen Khan, who had called Tom and Jerry a top comedy. Akshay claimed that the cartoon is more about violence than humour and dropped a bombshell about his own action scenes. He confessed, “Tom and Jerry is not comedy, it’s violence. Today I will tell you one secret. So many action scenes I have done, a lot of times I have taken it from Tom and Jerry. That whole helicopter scene, I took it from Tom and Jerry. Another idea I took was from National Geographic, but with Tom and Jerry, it is unbelievable to see the kind of action they have,” Akshay said.

In a recent interview, Akshay Kumar spilled the beans on his stress-busting routine — he turns to Charlie Chaplin or Friends for a laugh. He also revealed that Garam Masala was his toughest comedy project ever. As for sequels to his legendary hits Hera Pheri and Garam Masala, Akshay is keeping his fingers crossed and hopes they’ll make a comeback someday.
