Adil Hussain Takes Dig at Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal Again, Says 'Even If They Paid Rs 200 Cr...'
Actor Adil Hussain earlier said that he regretted being a part of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Kabir Singh'.

Adil Hussain made headlines for confessing that he ‘regretted’ being a part of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s directorial, Kabir Singh. While the film’s director Sandeep Reddy Vanga slammed the actor for his comment, Adil has maintained his stance.

The actor has once taken a dig at the movie and said that he would never have done ‘Animal’ even if the makers had paid him Rs 200 crore for the role.

When asked about Vanga’s comment where he said that Hussain had starred in “30 art films” and “one blockbuster film” referring to Kabir Singh, the actor said that he was a part of Ang Lee’s Life of Pi which was a bigger blockbuster than Kabir Singh. “What do I say to that? I think there are a lot of replies to that comment. If he is more famous than Ang Lee, I don’t know what to say… Very unfortunate that he thinks like that. His film did a lot of box office collection so probably he thinks like that. I don’t know the exact figures of Kabir Singh but Life of Pi did over a billion dollars so I don’t think he can compete with that. He should have thought about it before he said it,” Adil Hussain told Zoom.

Adil continued, “I don’t think he has any substance in that sentence at all. He was angry, he said it. It is a reactive comment on my statement. I don’t think I should take it seriously.” When asked if he would have done any role in Animal, the actor immediately responded by saying, “Never.” He then added, “Even if they paid me Rs 100-200 crore, I would never do it.”

Earlier, Adil Hussain appeared on AP Podcast’s YouTube channel when he talked about being the part of Kabir Singh and confessed “regretting” the role. He recalled going to the theatre to watch the film and walking out in 20 minutes. He called the film ‘misogynist’ and added that he wouldn’t recommend it even to his wife.
