Actor Nagarjuna Records Statement Against Konda Suresh Over Remark On Naga Chaitanya And Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Divorce
Actor Nagarjuna appeared at the Nampally court to record his statement against Konda Suresh. The actor had filed a defamation case against the minister over his remarks on Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's divorce.

Amidst the ongoing case between Tollywood actor Akkineni Nagarjuna and Telangana state minister Konda Suresh, the actor appeared in court on Tuesday to record his statement against the minister. He was accompanied by his wife Amala, his son Naga Chaitanya, and others.

Appearing before the Nampally court on Tuesday, actor Akkineni Nagarjuna gave his statement to the judge. His statement was recorded as a complainant. After the actor shared his statement, his niece Supriya also shared her statement as a witness. The judge has now pushed the next hearing of the case on October 10.

Nagarjuna had filed a criminal defamation case against Surekha at the Nampally court on October 3. He filed a complaint against Surekha under Section 356 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The actor took the step after the minister accused BRS working president KT Rama Rao of being the reason behind Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s divorce. He also made other objectionable statements which did not sit well with the family. Following the allegations, the actor filed a defamation petition.

In his defamation petition, the actor told the court that the statements made by the minister tarnished and damaged the reputation of his family. Reacting to the statement, Prabhu wrote, “My divorce is a personal matter, and I request that you refrain from speculating about it. Our choice to keep things private doesn’t invite misrepresentation. To clarify: my divorce was mutual consent and amicable, with no political conspiracy involved. Could you please keep my name out of political battles? I have always remained non-political and wish to continue doing so.”

Similarly, Chaitanya also took to social media and said, “The claim made by Minister Konda Surekha Garu is not only false, it is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Women deserve to be supported and respected. Taking advantage of and exploiting the personal life decisions of celebrities for the sake of media headlines is shameful.”

Surekha was called out by several others on social media and she later shared a clarification and withdrew her statements. On October 10, the court will initially decide whether to take cognizance of the case before moving forward.
