Tamil actor Jiiva and his wife, Supriya, were involved in a car accident on Wednesday, September 11, while driving through Kallakurichi, Tamil Nadu. The incident occurred when their luxury vehicle struck a barricade designed for two-wheelers, causing damage to the bumper. Both Jiiva and his wife suffered minor injuries. Police quickly arrived at the scene, took control of the situation, and began investigating. The car, which sustained significant damage, was brought to the police station. Onlookers recorded the event, and the footage soon went viral online. Jiiva appeared upset by remarks from the crowd. Videos show Jiiva reacting angrily to the comments made by the mob that had gathered. He and Supriya eventually left the area in another car.

According to the police, the actor and his wife were travelling by car from Chennai to Salem, with Jiiva behind the wheel. As they passed through Ammaiagaram, a motorist suddenly crossed the road. In an attempt to avoid hitting the motorist, Jiiva made a sharp turn, which caused the car to collide with a barricade.
Jiiva made his acting debut in 2003 with Aasai Aasaiyai and has since established himself in Tamil cinema through notable films like E, Katradhu Tamizh, Siva Manasula Sakthi, Ko, Nanban, Mugamoodi, Neethaane En Ponvasantham, Endrendrum Punnagai, Kalakalappu 2, and Kalathil Santhippom. He also ventured into Bollywood with the film 83, portraying cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth. In 2022, Jiiva expanded his career by hosting the television show Sarkaar With Jiiva.
Jiiva’s most recent film was Yatra 2, a biopic about the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. His forthcoming projects include Black, in which he stars alongside Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Methavi, featuring Raashii Khanna. Recently Jiiva was in a controversy when he was asked to give his opinion on the Hema Committee report that shook the Malayalam film industry. He had said that it was wrong for people to openly name abusers as it destroyed the healthy atmosphere in cinema.
