1. Havelock Island:
A part of Andaman and Nicobar Island, Havelock is a picturesque natural paradise with beautiful white sandy beaches, rich coral reefs and lush green forest. 2. Ranthambore:
If you are a wildlife lover and photographer then Ranthambore National Park will be a treat for you this time of the year as this is the best time to spot tiger. Ranthambore National Park is one of the biggest and most renowned national park in Northern India. Located in the Sawai Madhopur district of southeastern Rajasthan, it is about 130 km from Jaipur. During this time of the year, the tiger safari timmings are 6.30 am to 10.00 am in morning and 2.30 pm to 6.00 pm in the evening.
How to Reach:
Ranthambore National Park is well-connected with all the major cities in the country. The easiest way to reach this park is to take a train to Sawai Madhopur Railway Station. If you are travelling by air and the nearest airport is Sanganer Airport in Jaipur. The distance between Jaipur and Ranthambore is about 180 km. You can take direct taxi or bus from Sanganer Airport to reach Ranthambore.
3. Spiti:
With its unparalleled natural beauty, Spiti is ideal location for you if you are looking for a peaceful getaway. Popularly known as the Little Tibet, Spiti is located in the Himalayan Mountain range in Himachal Pradesh.
How to Reach:
If you are travelling by air Kullu Airport is the nearest. You can board a taxi or rickshaw from the airport to reach the destination. The nearest railway station is Shimla.
4. Ooty:
Known as the Queen of hill stations, Ooty in Tamil Nadu, one of the finest and popular family holiday spots in the country. It is an excellent summer getaway as the temperature here hovers around 16 degree C in March.
How to Reach:
The nearest airport is Coimbatore which is approximately 88 kilometres away. A major attraction in south India, Ooty is well connected with Bangalore, Mysore and Chennai by government and luxury buses. The nearest railhead is Mettupalyam which is 40 kilometres from Ooty.
5. Rishikesh:
Another place you can visit during March is Rishikesh in Uttarakhand. Also known as the 'Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas', Rishikesh is a junction where faith and adventure meet.
How to Reach:
Jolly Grant airport at Dehradun is the nearest airport, 35 kilometres away, and the nearest railhead to Rishikesh is in Haridwar, 25 kilometres away. Rishikesh has a good network of buses connecting it with important places such as Haridwar, Dehradun and New Delhi.
