South Korean singer-songwriter Kim Junsu is set to make a highly anticipated comeback to public broadcasting variety shows after a 15-year hiatus. The news, announced by a representative of KBS on April 3, has generated excitement among the artist’s fans and viewers. Kim Junsu recently completed filming for an episode of The Return of Superman, reportedly scheduled to be aired at the end of April. His return to public broadcasting follows that of his fellow boy band JYJ member, Kim Jaejoong, who recently made a similar comeback by appearing on KBS 2TV’s Pyeon Restaurant after over a decade-long hiatus from such platforms.
Most JYJ members, who have only appeared on comprehensive entertainment shows, are returning to terrestrial broadcasting for the first time in 15 years since 2009, reports Naver Entertainment.
This development not only marks a personal milestone for Kim Junsu but also hints at a potential resurgence of JYJ’s presence in mainstream media. Fans can look forward to an engaging episode as Kim Junsu shows his charm and talent on The Return of Superman. Apart from this show, Kim Junsu is reportedly scheduled to host a solo concert titled Sia 2024 Encore Concert Chapter 1 Recreation on the 27th and 28th of this month.
Kim Junsu, also known as Junsu and also by his stage name XIA, is a multi-talented Korean idol known for his singing, songwriting, dancing and stage acting. He gained fame as a member of the popular boy band TVXQ, where he was known as Xiah Juns. After leaving TVXQ, he became a pivotal member of the Korean band JYJ.
Kim began his music career in 2003 with TVXQ, a group formed by the prominent South Korean record label and talent agency, SM Entertainment. Before his debut, he underwent six years of rigorous training, honing his skills. During his time with TVXQ, Kim contributed to the release of four Korean albums, four Japanese albums, thirty Japanese singles and numerous Korean singles.
