Rekha and her three sons, aged between 4 and 8 years, were asleep on Friday night when the incident took place in Katra Gadhchirauli village, police said on Saturday.
The victims' family cremated the bodies without informing the police, they said, adding a team of cops reached the spot on being informed by villagers about the mishap.
Probe has been initiated into the case, police said.
