Vijayakant hints at new ally

As the rumours are rife about DMK approaching DMDK for a coalition in the upcoming parliamentary election, DMDK chief Vijayakant has said his party would consider forming an alliance with a party that would  assure that it will uphold the interests of Tamil Nadu.

He was here to attend functions in his constituency Rishivanthiyam in Villupuram district on Monday.

While addressing the gathering, Vijayakant said, “For the upcoming parliament election, DMDK is ready to consider forming an alliance with a party that would give assurances through written statement regarding upholding the interests of Tamil Nadu, in all respects.” In this regard, he referred to  issues related to Cauvery and Mullaiperiyar. He also slammed the Congress-led UPA Govt or a series of scams.

“After 2G, Commonwealth and coal scams, now allegations are coming up against Robert Vadra. The Centre had also curbed  the number of cooking gas cylinders to household. However, in States where Congress is in power, they are distributing three more cylinders. Why this discrimination? People should teach a lesson to Congress in the LS polls," he said.
