Unfair to target Anna Hazare: Narendra Modi
Modi said it was unfair that those who were associate with his government are being hounded.

Ahemdabad: Not the only controversy to do with the Lokpal Joint Committee members - Anna Hazare has been criticised for praising Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Modi, however, says it's not just Hazare who's being hounded for speaking in favour of him.

Modi has spoken out again on the controversy created after Anna Hazare praised his governance model. Modi said it was unfair that those who were associate with his government are being hounded out by the Centre and vigilance agencies.

Narendra Modi Chief Minister of Gujarat said, "It is not that only Anna Hazare is being targeted for talking about me. Today, many feel that whoever signs an MoU with the Gujarat government is sure to be raided by the Income Tax sleuths. I am saying this fearlessly. This is disgusting."

Earlier Modi posted an open letter on his blog addressed to Anna Hazare, hailing the veteran Gandhian and anti-corruption activist, a day after Hazare had praised the development work done by Modi. Modi wrote that his respect for Anna was decades old, when he was member of the RSS pracharak.

Modi also wrote that he and his state of Gujarat were indebted to Anna for the courage and conviction which he showed by saying good words for Modi and Gujarat.

Anna Hazare had not only praised Modi but also praised Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for the development work done in Bihar's rural areas. Anna had said that other states should emulate the development work done in Bihar and Gujarat.

Hazare's praise was met with a lot of criticism from many and had left the Congress seeing red. He later on clarified he was against communalism and had only praised the work done by the CMs.
