New Delhi: Caught on camera in UK was an incident of racial abuse. Three local teenagers launched two savage racist attacks on Asian shopkeepers in less than an hour.

The assaults - which took place in June this year - have been captured on CCTV cameras.

In the first attack, the boys punched and kicked Ashok Selvam at the Bargain booze store after they were refused vodka and cigarettes. One held the shopkeeper in a headlock as the other punched him in his face even as all three screamed racist abuses at him.

Less than an hour later, the three thugs went to Costcutter in North Street, where they were banned. Violence flared after one of them tried to snatch a bottle of wine. As shopkeeper Parakram Zala - the second victim - tried to call the police, one of the teenagers punched him in the face.

When Zala's colleague Girish Patel rushed to save him, all three defendants began hitting him. Patel's left eye was so badly injured he thought he would lose his sight.

The footage was used by the prosecution to make the Bristol court convict the trio, calling the attacks "sustained and frenzied".

The boys simply laughed as the footage was shown to Bristol magistrate District Judge David Parsons and denied that the attack was racially motivated.

The judge, however, found them guilty of racial abuse and even agreed to lift an order banning the teenagers' identification. All three will be sentenced on November 11.
