HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhara Rao on Wednesday alleged that the state government was tapping the phones of around 10,000 TRS leaders to know information about Sakalajanula Samme launched by the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TJAC)
Addressing a meeting here, Rao said tapping of such a large number of phones was never heard in the history of the country or the world. The TRS chief said he was planning to lodge a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) or State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) or move the Supreme Court in this regard. "Phones of TRS leaders, including mandal activists, personal secretaries and car drivers of leaders, are under surveillance," Rao said. He suspected that the phone tapping was intended to suppress the Telangana movement. Now, people of the entire region got united after 11 years of TRS movement and it could not be suppressed. Around 59,000 posts in various government departments meant for Telangana people have been grabbed by Seemandhra, he said.
