Tirunelveli Teacher, Who Took Students On ISRO Trip, Bags Dr Radhakrishnan Award
In his 20-year career, teacher Ganesan has been a part of numerous science exhibitions.

Ganesan, who is working as a science teacher in a government secondary school located in Vellalankulam village of Tirunelveli district, has received this year’s Dr. Radhakrishnan award. The government of Tamil Nadu honoured 386 teachers with the Dr Radhakrishnan Award.

Ganesan is a teacher of subject science. He started his teaching career in 2004. He has been teaching science along with telling them the nuances of life. He not only pays attention to the students who study well but also gives special attention to those who have a little difficulty in reading. He gives them separate manuals and encourages them to study well and not give up.

Teacher Ganesan also took the students to the ISRO Science Center in Mahendragiri to make them learn about science beyond the textbook.

The contribution of teachers is considered very important in guiding students effectively and creating social development. In his 20-year career, teacher Ganesan has been a part of numerous science exhibitions. From presenting guidelines for competitive exams to practical science knowledge to paying special attention to children, Ganesan does every duty possible for a teacher to guide their students well.

About the teacher Ganesan, the students said, “Ganesan sir is very friendly. He will help us in any way. He teaches only so it is very easy for us to study.”

Happiness lab, home-based education visits, preventing child marriages and an automated school bell made of recycled materials are among the feats that have bagged National Teachers’ Awards for 82 teachers from across the country on September 5. The awards were conferred by President Droupadi Murmu.

One of them is Chandralekha Damodar Mestri, a teacher at the Satyawati Soiru Angle Higher Secondary School, South Goa. She has been awarded for bridging the language gap for her primarily first-generation learner students. She developed innovative, low-cost teaching aids and conducted home visits with books and stationery to foster a love of learning.
