THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The second group matches of the 55th State School Games began here on Thursday. In the junior girls basketball finals, Thrissur emerged victorious beating Kollam. In the junior boys hockey finals, Malappuram beat Kollam 3-2. In the junior girls finals, Thiruvananthapuram defeated Thrissur 2-1 to emerge winners. In junior girls kho-kho, Palakkad defeated Thiruvananthapuram to claim the title. In junior boys kho-kho, Malappuram emerged winners. In junior girls table tennis, Wayanad won the title defeating Thrissur while in junior boys table tennis Wayanad came first. The senior level matches will be held on Friday. The championship will conclude on Saturday.
