BANGALORE: The JD(S) has urged Governor H R Bharadwaj to dismiss the BJP government for attempting to influence Lokayukta and get a favourable report on the issue of illegal mining.
"We have exposed the corrupt deeds of the BJP government with necessary documents. The government has not cared to reply to our charges. But now the Lokayukta is sought to be silenced. This is the proverbial last straw on the camel's back," former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy addressed the media, after emerging out of the Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday. Scores of JD(S) leaders led by Kumaraswamy called on Bhardwaj and submitted a memorandum to him urging him to dismiss the Yeddyurappa-led government for attempting to subvert the judicial process. "An attempt is being made to silence the very institution created by the legislature to fight graft," Kumaraswamy said.
added, adding the Governor gave a patient hearing to the views expressed by them.
