Parents often want their children to excel, not just academically but also in sports or art forms like dance, singing or art. One young boy from West Bengal’s Nadia has been very passionate about magic since his childhood. His every visit to fairs and magic shows led him to buy magic-related props or books. Now, he is considered to be the youngest magician in his district at just 8 years old.

Prayag Pal of Shantipur, Nadia wished for their son to learn something unique apart from his academics. Upon knowing about his passion for magic, his parents supported and encouraged him to learn more about the craft. Such was his desire, that if he scored well in exams, or for his birthday, he used to get magic props and books as gifts for his birthday.

While the parents became his support, they quickly realised that finding a place that would teach their young son magic would be difficult. They decided to take their son to a magician in Ranaghat. The magician refused as he did not have the means to teach such a young student. The boy’s parents were determined to fulfil their son’s wishes and they travelled to many places, where they faced a similar situation. Upon seeing his eagerness to learn magic, a magician from Kolkata agreed to teach him. He completed his training and began doing stage shows within a year.

Now, this 8-year-old has already created a huge buzz in his district and other places with his amazing performances and shows. Not only this, many renowned and well-established magicians in the state were highly impressed with Prayag’s skills and decided to give him magic props. His father, Gopal Pal is employed at the BDO Office in Dakshineswar.

Recently, the little boy performed a stage show in Shantipur. While his parents scolded him at home, they were his assistants on the stage. Apart from magic, he has already learned mentalism, a type of art that uses psychology and makes suggestions that mislead the audience into believing that something has happened without physical intervention. Just with a few questions, he can leave his audience shocked by guessing their thoughts. All this is purely science and uses only scientific methods. He wants to build a society that is free from prejudices and superstitions.

Prayag’s parents want their son to grow up to be a magician, instead of a doctor or an engineer. His parents believe that as parents they must support their child’s interest and encourage the profession accordingly.
