Thane: Undertrial slaps Central Jail officer

Thane: An undertrial lodged at the Central Jail in Thane allegedly slapped a prison jail officer during the week-end, police said on Tuesday.

Kundan Gopalsingh Negi, who was facing trial for his involvement in a brawl in Kalwa area, was spotted smoking in front of the guard room on Saturday afternoon.

This was noticed by jail officer Anand Kande, who told Negi that smoking was not allowed in prison premises. An annoyed Negi abused Kande and allegedly slapped him, police said.
