BANGALORE: More than 2,000 postcards with messages from supporters of Anna seeking strong Jan Lokpal Bill were sent to the Prime Minister’s office here on Saturday. More supporters joined the Anna movement over the weekend. A group of around 200 IT employees gathered outside Freedom Park.Speaking to The New Indian Express, Hoshiyar (26), an employee of Hewlett-Packard, said, “IT employees have gathered from different parts of Bangalore and we expect many more to come. Since it is a holiday for us, we have gathered here to support Anna Hazare”.Meanwhile, a music band from Bangalore performed patriotic songs and On Fire, a theater group performed a skit called Jaago.Also, two-minute silence was observed at 5.30 p.m in honour of Anna Hazare and to show respect to the nationalist movement.Justice N Santosh Hegde addressed the audience on Saturday morning. When asked about donations from Rs 30,000-1,00,000 being paid to private educational institutions for the admission of kindergarten and primary school students, he replied, “This bill is not applicable to any private institution or any private citizen. It is only applicable to representatives of people in public service. The word corruption means illegal demands from public personnel doing an official duty.”
