New Delhi: As the jat agitation continued to cause havoc across Haryana, sources have told CNN-IBN that the Centre has issued orders to the army to take action against violent protesters.
The decision was taken after a meeting at Home Minister Rajnath Singh's residence attended by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Parliamentary affairs minister Venkaiah Naidu and National Security advisor Ajit Doval.
The army has been directed to clear all blocked road, rail and water supplies. Army columns and other security forces have been ordered to take charge of the Munak canal - which supplies water to Delhi. The canal was blocked for almost a day by the protesters.
