New Delhi: Indian American astronaut Sunita Williams on Wednesday congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientists on the successful launch of PSLV-C7.

"First of all congratulations, what a great accomplishment," Williams said giving a thumbs up to India's space scientists.

Speaking from the US International Space station, Williams said India should now look forward to sending manned vehicle also.

The ISRO on Wednesday reached a new milestone when PSLV-C7 successfully launched the maiden Space Capsule Recovery Experiment (SRE), a recoverable satellite as the first step to develop reusable launch vehicles.

Speaking via satellite from the International Space Station to the reporters and students who were there at the American Centre, Williams congratulated the scientists and said the PSLV launch was spectacular.

As she signed off after a 10-minute interaction, it became clear that the success of the PSLV, which carried four satellites into space, was still on her mind.

"Once again congratulations for the spectacular launch," said Williams, part of an American crew that travelled to the International Space Station on a US shuttle.
