Stink and the city, Londoners cry foul
An unpleasant smell has engulfed London.

Atlanta: Londoners are crying foul! An unpleasant smell has engulfed the city. Where is it coming from?

The answer could very well be blowing in the wind. The British media have dubbed it 'Le Stink', 'Euro-whiff' and the great continental stink. However, an easterly wind has brought a fresh country smell to this very densely populated city. For two days, Londoners have wondered what the strange aroma in the air is.

Clearly, they're not accustomed to the rural practice of muck spreading.

The British National Farmer's Union has blamed Dutch farmers for the problem.

Coupled with a stiff easterly breeze, it means that the stench has reached the central and eastern parts of England, and of course, Britain's capital city.

Some people have their own theories on where the smell comes from.

'Just Filthy drains. Dirty drains.' However, others clearly don't have such a keen sense of smell.

'I've heard about it but I haven't smelled anything myself.'

The British Meteorological Society says that the easterly winds will continue to waft this strange aroma over Britain until the wind direction changes on Monday or Tuesday.

What's your reaction?
