New Delhi: India's dream run in its maiden Hopman Cup appearance finally came to an end, as Spain won both the deciding singles matches in their final Group B encounter.
Sania Mirza fought gamely before Anabel Median Garrigues pulled out all stops to win the opening singles match 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 in an hour and 40 minutes.
Sania loss was followed by Rohan Bopanna who was completely outclassed by Tommy Robredo, the Spaniard winning 6-2, 6-3 in
just 64 minutes.
The remaining mixed doubles match is of no consequence as Spain will now meet Russia in the final.
