KOCHI: Talks Foundation, an initiative by former principals and teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya, is organising a series of workshops for CBSE and ICSE teachers, with the aim of empowering them. The workshops will provide a platform for teachers to articulate their views, share their experiences, identify their strengths and requirements and also to imbibe new ideas, gain new insights and acquire new skills through highly interactive sessions.The workshop and orientation programme will cover the concept of  Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE), tools and techniques of assessment and evaluation, lesson planning, question paper setting, marking  scheme, online test for students for self-assessment, production of  worksheets, career guidance, said S Muraleedharan, Talks Foundation secretary.All CBSE and ICSE schools can enrol their teachers, handling English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science for classes VI to X, for the workshop.The workshop will be held in two groups - Class VI to VII (Teacher Development Drive-1) and Class IX and X. The first workshop for class VI to VII will be held at Assisi Vidya Nikethan Public School, Chembumukku on December 10.The resource persons are highly experienced in planning and organising induction and in-service programme for teachers. One of the sessions will be held by C A Joseph, former vice-principal, Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun and former principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, and a veteran in guidance and counselling, adolescence education and teacher training. Also, he has been supervising implementation of CCE in CBSE schools.Other sessions will be held by S Muraleedharan, a well known mathematician and an expert in Quality Improvement Programme, P U Chakkappan, former principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya and a member of Curriculum Renewal Project by CBSE in English and K S Ram Mohan, a KVS Incentive Award winner of 1997 for his contribution to teaching Science and an expert in computer and technology aided teaching.The course material and food will be provided at the venue.
