Scribe cheats public, arrested

BANGALORE: A man in the guise of a journalist who used to offer easy money and cheat people was arrested on Thursday. The accused, Shaik Nawaz, used to claim that he was a reporter at a regional news channel. On the pretext of offering double returns on investments, he had collected Rs 13 lakh from people. Trusting him, victims Balakrishna and Intiayaz had given Rs 5 lakh each, and another victim Uday Kumar had given `3 lakh to the accused.  Nawaz had showed sealed trunks with fake currencies to the victims.  Based on a complaint by Balakrishna,  Vidyaranyapura police arrested Nawaz.
