BANGALORE: The Kannada film fraternity extended its support to the anti-corruption movement at the Freedom Park on Tuesday.Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce President Basant Kumar Patil, film producer Sara Govindu, veteran actors B Sarojadevi, Jayamala and Shivaram visited the park to demand a strong Jan Lokpal Bill and offer their support to the protest.Addressing the gathering, Patil said, “Unless the Union Government responds favourably to Anna Hazare’s demands it would be impossible to stop the protests sprouting across the country as more and more people will join the protest every day.” He further stated that if the government fails to come to an agreement with the protesters it will result in state or country-wide bandhs which will be detrimental to the economic growth.The other film artists who had accompanied Patil also asserted the Kannada film industry’s support to Anna Hazare in his fight against corruption and pledged allegiance in his struggle for a corruption free India.
