Sahasrakalasam, Kalabhabhishekam held

PATHANAMTHITTA:  Sahasrakalasam and Kalabhabhishekam were held at the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple on the second day of Malayalam month of Kanni on Sunday.The rituals were conducted under the leadership of Thantri Kandararu Maheswararu and Melsanthi Sasi Nampoothiri during Uchcha pooja, Sabarimala executive officer M Satheesh Kumar said.As part of the Kalabhabhishekam, Thantri Maheswararu performed the Kalabhakalasa pooja at the Nalambalam at 11.30 a.m., he said. Before Kalabhakalsabhishekam on the idol of Lord Ayyppa, the procession carrying the Kalabhakalasam, led by the Thantri and Melsanthi was taken out circumambulating the Sreekovi, Satheesh Kumar said.After the procession, the Kalabhakalasam was taken inside the Sreekovil and conducted on the idol of the Lord.Udayasthamana pooja, padi pooja and pushpabhishekam were the other rituals held at the temple, he said.The hill shrine will be closed on September 21 evening after Athazha pooja and Harivarasanam, Satheesh Kumar said.
