TIRUPUR: Burglars broke into the house of a garment unit owner near here on Thursday and decamped with 147 sovereigns of gold and Rs1.3 lakh.
According to police sources, Vigneswaran, 29, son of Theivasigaman, runs a garment manufacturing unit near his house in K N S Garden at Rakiyapalayam on Kangeyam Road.On Thursday evening, Vigneswaran, his parents and wife had gone to Karuvampalayam to visit his grandfather.

On returning home around 9 pm, they found that the house had been burgled.

SP V Balakrishnan and Tirupur Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajaram conducted inquiries on the spot. The Tirupur rural police registered a case and launched an investigation.
