CHENNAI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing into the death of S Satish Kumar, son of Madras High Court advocate R Sankara Subbu , has announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for information on those resposible.The CBI, in a release, said the identity of the informer would be kept secret and those possessing credible information in connection with the case could contact the Superintendent of Police, CBI, Special Crimes Branch at 044-24916341 or the Inspector of Police, CBI, Special Crimes Branch at 044- 24917144/ 044- 24468416/ 9840722173/ 9840088366.As per the case, Kumar left his home on his two-wheeler on June 7 and did not return. His motorcycle was found abandoned near ICF North Colony road on June 9 and body fished out of the ICF tank on June 13. Postmortem report revealed that Kumar died due to a neck injury caused by a sharp weapon. Supervisor, Collection Agent Held for FraudA supervisor and a collection agent of a restaurant in T Nagar were arrested for tampering with the software and swindling several lakh rupees. Police arrested supervisor Murugan and collection agent Jayakumar for altering the cash register software and making the final sales report of the day show a lesser amount. By this way, they swindled the difference money.Police said the accused had built a network among five other branches in the city and had been swindling money for the past two years.The fraud came to light when the owner grew suspicious and installed a hidden camera near the cash register last month. The arrested men revealed that they used this method in five other branches of the restaurant here for the past two years with the help of accomplices in those units. Police are on the look out for Mohan, another collection agent.Two arrested for Land Grab AttemptThe suburban police arrested two men who attempted to grab land worth `three crore at Vanagaram, near Maduravoyal, on Saturday.Mohan Kumar of Ramapuram and Santhosh of Porur were held for attempting to grab 4,800 sq ft area of land. Builder Srinivasalu AP had purchased the land in his wife’s name in August last year from Aravind Kumar Jain, who was the power agent for owners Senthil Kumar and Mohan Kumar.After registering the land, Srinivasalu started constructing a flat there when the owners and Santhosh asked him to stop the work. They threatened the labourers engaging goons and also threatened the builder to vacate the land. Police arrested two persons and are on the lookout for Senthil Kumar.
