It is always fun to back to school — meeting old friends and teachers you grew up with. This is what the alumni of Little Flower High School experienced on Sunday. The school premises was bustling with its alumni right from the batches as old as 1958 and as latest as 2007.Sharing his excitement was Saral Talwar, who was in his school after a good 18 years of gap.“The school has not changed at all. I am coming back after 18 years and it still feels the same. My friends and I visited the classrooms where we used to sit during our school days.” Even though Saral and his school friends had started staying in touch with each other thanks to Facebook, it was a whole new feeling to meet everyone in a place where they spent most of their childhood.Another alumnus who was getting nostalgic was Professor Rameshwar Rao, vice chancellor of JNTU, Hyderabad. Rao, who belonged to the batch of 1965, shared, “I felt very emotional coming back to the school. I am here after four decades and meeting my first teacher (Mary ma’am) after so long just brought back so many memories.”Arshad Ayub, former test cricketer and Indian Cricket Team Manager, who passed out of Little Flower School in 1974-75, was extremely thankful to his school faculty for encouraging him in the field of cricket. “The whole experience of coming back to the place where you grew up is wonderful. It brings back umpteen number of memories --- especially how everyone helped me with my cricket,” recalled Ayub, who was back to his school after a really long time.It was not just the alumni who was walking down the memory lane. Mary Josephine, a teacher at the school, who had been teaching there since 1965, expressed, “This profession is so pure --- makes you forget about every problem and gives immense satisfaction when you your students established in whatever they are doing.”The evening also witnessed various cultural programmes and a basket-ball match between the senior and junior alumni.
