BANGALORE: Yoga guruturned- social crusader Baba Ramdev on Monday called upon the Union government to declare the entire Rs 400 lakh crore of black money stashed away in foreign banks a national asset.Speaking to reporters, he said that it was the only way for India to become a global superpower.“Change the ownership of black money in foreign countries. Declare them as national assets. Everybody is talking about bringing the money back, but no one is pondering upon how this should be done,” he said, warning a revolution if the government failed to work on this in the winter session of the Parliament.Baba Ramdev proposed methods to uproot corruption from the system.“All parliamentarians should declare assets. A general purpose FIR should be filed to seek more information on the black money hidden away by corrupt officials. Also, all politically exposed persons should be grilled about their roles in scams like Bofors, Commonwealth Games and 2G Spectrum,” he urged.While reiterating his claim that the government is keeping secret a list of 700 people with black money, Baba Ramdev claimed that he was approached by the ‘deep throat’ who was supplying Julian Assange with information about the black money.“I was approached by the same person who works with Assange. His demands were too much for me to meet financially, so I gave it up,” Ramdev said.‘Do Away With Taxation’ According to him, the only way to bring an end to inflation is by cancelling all existing taxations.“If you look at the actual (base) price of petrol, it is just Rs 35. But due to the heavy taxation, commoners have to pay up to Rs 73. Do away with taxation and levy a transaction fee on everything,” said Ramdev.‘Global Power If Black Money Comes Back’“According to International Monetary Fund reports, Indian economy is valued at Rs 200 lakh crore. If all the black money is brought back, we will stand close to the US economy, which is vallued at around Rs 700 lakh crore. But due to the external debts, the US is going to fall. That leaves us with China. We will overcome China if we do the right things,” said Ramdev ‘KARNATAKA LEADING IN CORRUPTION’“Karnataka has seen many nataks in the past. The State is leading in corruption in the fields of mining, drugs, real estate, education and retail sector. There is a huge amount of black money in these areas in the State,” alleged Baba Ramdev.He said he will speak to politicians here about his plans to uproot corruption.“Karnataka has to join in the struggle to remove corruption from the roots. I am confident there will be change,” he felt.
