HASSAN: Expressing unhappiness over the state of affairs in the political circle in the recent days, former state BJP president BB Shivappa urged Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to resign and pave the way for an impartial inquiry.He told reporters in Hassan on Monday that the mudslinging between the political leaders over the issue of telephone-tapping must stop. Yeddyurappa can reoccupy the CM’s chair if the opposition parties fail to prove the charges levelled against him, he added.Stressing that BJP was a national party Shivappa said that all leaders in the party should abide by the decisions taken by the high command and Yeddyurappa was not an exception.He urged the government to order an inquiry into the allegations made by the opposition leaders. The (opposition) leaders are making allegations based on the statements made by Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde, the facts could be unearthed only through a thorough enquiry, he opined.Report leakageShivappa said that the Lokayukta report can not lose its credibility just because it was leaked. The government should take stringent action against those who are found guilty by the reporty, he added. To a question regarding the Bhagavadgita Abhiyana, he said that politics and religion should not be mixed up.
