CHENNAI: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to allocate an additional 30,000 tonnes of Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) for Kuruvai cultivation in Tamil Nadu. Recalling that the Centre had allocated two lakh tonnes of DAP for the year 2011, the CM said with regard to the allocation of 47,000 tonnes till May, the State had received only 20,000 tonnes.“There is already a shortfall of 27,000 tonnes and we will require an additional 30,000 tonnes for the Kuruvai cultivation”, the CM said and requested the PM to ensure supply of the allotted quantity.
