Police, who recovered Rs 11.5 lakh cash from them, said it was a case of murder for gain. East Zone police said on July 12, the three accused- Rajesh Sharma, Santosh Kumar Sharma, Jeetu Lal, allegedly killed Michael by strangling him to death. On June 12, Rajesh Sharma, the driver of Suvarna Latha, a close friend of the victim, picked Michael at his residence in Saidabad. Incidentally, the next day Michael asked Suvarna to send her a car," Saidabad inspector P Devender said. Immediately after he came to know about it, Rajesh Sharma called up his roommates Santosh Kumar Sharma and Jeetu Lal and hatched a plan. Both Santosh Kumar and Jeetu were picked up at Neeredmet and dropped off at Nalgonda crossroads. "Rajesh picked up Michael from his house and went via Nalgonda crossroads. There the other two accused boarded the car. Immediately, Michael took strong objection to two unknown persons in the car. Since the glasses were tinted no outsider could know about the incident," Devender added. After Michael was murdered, his body was taken to Hayathnagar where his body was buried in a ditch.
