TIRUPATI: The nineday annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Padmavati Ammavaru commenced with the temple priests performing Dhwajarohanam inside the temple at Tiruchanoor, near here, on Monday.

The sacred yellow flag with the imprint of Gaja, the celestial carrier of Goddess Padmavati, was hoisted atop the golden flagpost, Dhwajastambham, inside the temple complex at the auspicious Dhanur lagnam between 9:45 am and 10 am amidst chanting of hymns by priests.

Scores of devotees worshipped Her for their good fortune, health, peace and harmony. TTD chairman Kanumuri Bapi Raju released a book, Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Vahana Sevalu, on the occasion. Tirupati MP Chinta Mohan, TTD EO LV Subramanyam, joint EO Venkatarami Reddy, CV SO MK Singh, temple staff and devotees witnessed the celestial event.
