OJEE: Web-based counselling kicks off

BHUBANESWAR: The much-publicised web-based counselling for admission into the professional colleges kicked off on Sunday by the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Committee. The process began with candidates registering and filling in choices. As per the schedule declared by the JEE Committee, applicants for lateral entry (Engineering), MCA/MBA and Pharmacy courses began the online registration on the day. The JEE Committee has fixed dates for various branches. For lateral entry in engineering, candidates can register and fill choices till July 15 whereas for MBA and MCA, it can continue till July 19. For Pharmacy, the deadline is August 2. For Engineering branches, registration will start on July 8 and continue till the month-end.  In between, the JEE Committee has set time for reporting to the nodal centres for document verification and choice locking. First round of allotment will start on July 17 (lateral entry). The JEE body has identified at least 18 institutions as nodal centres for document verification and fee deposit. The centralised computerised counselling for five branches, including MBBS and BDS and B.Arch, will start on July 10.
