New Delhi: Scores of NSUI activists on Saturday staged dharna at Jantar Mantar in protest against the issuance of admit card to applicants by UPSC, demanding the scrapping of Civil Services Aptitude Tests (CSAT).

Protestors led by NSUI National Gen Secretary Mohit Sharma and Delhi State President Vikas Chhikara also raised slogans against UPSC and Central Government during the dharna.

"UPSC should immediately scrap CSAT for the welfare of Hindi-medium students. NSUI has decided to continue their protest till this test is scrapped," NSUI's national spokesperson Amrish Ranjan Pandey said.

Pandey said that the Central Government had promised the students that their demands would be looked into and nobody would be disadvantaged.

However, the UPSC on July 24 had issued e-admit cards for the preliminary examinations. In the evening, activists called off their dharna after senior police officials intervened in the matter.
